Interactive installation at Marijonai monastery

Our purpose was to introduce life of Jurgis Matulaitis, who was beatified by the pope John Paul II. We created an exceptional virtual installation with touch-screen. Interactive installation is not a usual case to find  at a monastery, so it became quite a challenge to create an organic space between monastery and installation so that it would be attractive to elder visitors as they were our target audience.
To produce an idea we have chosen popular and ordinary sacral art imaging technique – stained glass. Pieces of stained glass became different part of life of Jurgis Matulaitis while whole  installation stood as sacral piece of art.
Now visitors of Marijonai monastery can touch the screen and to choose what they want to know about Jurgis Matulaitis life. Our interactive stained glass became interesting narrative technique, which is acceptable for visitors of all ages.
